Janet M. Sheaffer

Janet M. Sheaffer, age 64 of Orrtanna, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Chambersburg Hospital. She was born Saturday, October 27, 1951 in Beckley, WV, the daughter of Sadie V. (Beasley) Cottrell of McKnightstown and the late William Paul Cottrell. Janet graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1969. She retired from Wal-Mart in Gettysburg in 2006. She had previously worked at Grants in Gettysburg, King's Department Store in Gettysburg, Jamesway and Gettysburg High School cafeteria. She was a member of Wenksville United Methodist Church. John E. Sheaffer, her husband of 44 years survives her. She is also survived by sons, John P. and wife Brandy Sheaffer of Hanover and Matthew D. and wife Amanda Sheaffer of Biglerville, granddaughter, Bethany Sheaffer of Hanover and a sister, Mary Ann Wagner of McKnightstown. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Memorial services will be held Sunday, February 7 at 2:00 PM at Wenksville United Methodist Church, 2010 Wenksville Road, Biglerville with Reverend Rick Robinson officiating.
