Janet R. Stegner

Janet R. Stegner, age 83 of Middletown, MD, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Citizen Care and Rehabilitation Center of Frederick. She was born Monday, December 4, 1933 in Menallen Twp., Adams Co., the daughter of the late Hiram E. and Lenore (Starner) Rex. Janet graduated from Biglerville High School in 1951. After high school, she went to work for Cerebral Palsy Assoc. and then Knouse Foods, Peach Glen. She then was employed by Capital Products in Mechanicsburg as an executive administrative assistant for more than twenty-five years until they closed. She also worked as an executive assistant for Richard Snelbaker, Esq. in Mechanicsburg for more than ten years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Enola, Rotary Club in Enola, and the American Legion of Enola. She was active in East Pennsboro High School Band Boosters and PTA and was a Girl Scout Leader in East Pennsboro Twp. Her husband, Robert E. Stegner passed away in 2012.She is survived by three daughters, Brenda L. and husband Warren Renander of Webster, TX, Lisa S. and husband Chris Miller of Middletown, MD, and Kristen L. Gonzales of Parkton, MD, thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a sister, Lois Alander of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by sisters, Ileane E. Breighner and Linda G. Lehman and two brothers, Keith H. and Eugene A. Rex. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 10 at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, 1299 Gablers Road, Gardners with Reverend Anjel Ayrer Scarborough officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 9 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
