Janet L. Wonders

Janet L. Wonders, age 94, formerly of Newville, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Chambersburg Hospital.She was the wife of the late Calvin L. Wonders. Born in Cumberland County on Tuesday, November 28, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Z. and Helen (Myers) Fry. Janet was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newville. She graduated from Newville High School in 1941. She had been a resident of the Elmcroft Senior Living facility in Shippensburg since 2008. She will always be remembered by family and friends as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Surviving are four sons and two daughters, Robert L. Wonders (wife, Ruth Ann Litner) of Shippensburg, William F. Wonders (wife, Karen Ilgenfritz) of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Bradley A. Wonders (wife, Lillian Woods) of Newville, Bryan C. Wonders (wife, Kim Seville) of Newville, Barbara J. Harglerode (husband, Michael) of Shippensburg, and Beth A. Boltz of Pine Grove; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Fry and one sister, Jean Musser. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. A Memorial Service will be held at Zion Evangelical Church, 51 W. Main Street, Newville on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Middle Spring Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
