Jay H. Currens

Jay H. Currens, age 84 of Gardners, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the Chambersburg Hospital. He was born Friday, July 15, 1932 in Cashtown, the son of the late Joseph F. and Gladys R. (Plank) Currens. He was a 1950 graduate of Biglerville High School. For the majority of Jay's life, he worked as an electrician.He worked for Cadbury Schweppes as a maintenance engineer.He was a member of the Wenksville United Methodist Church. Jay served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his son, Bradley J. Currens of Atlanta, GA, daughter, Denise E. McCauslin of Fayetteville, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene D. Currens in 2016, step-son, Wayne V. Cline, brother, Gervus Currens and sisters, Caroline Hinkle and Jane Martin. Professional servicesare entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 17 at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Chaplain John Morrill officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services.Interment will be in Flohr's Church Cemetery, McKnightstown with military honors.
