Jay E. Truett, Sr.

Jay E. Truett, Sr., age 84 of Chambersburg, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the Chambersburg Hospital. He was born Tuesday, May 20, 1930 in Chambersburg , the child of the late Wilbur and Edna (Thompson) Truett . He worked at T.B. Woods and Knouse foods. He enjoyed NASCAR with his favorite driver being Dale Earnhardt Sr. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He always enjoyed going to Jim's Market in Chambersburg. He is survived by four daughters: Gwendolyn J. and husband Theodore Pugh of Chambersburg, Debra S. and husband Donald Bingaman of Greencastle, Wanda J. and husband Doug Woodal of Chambersburg, Laurie A. and husband Jesse Asper II of Newburg; two sons: Jay E. Truett, Jr. and Jeffrey L. Truett, both of Chambersburg; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and numerous brothers and sisters. His wife, Violet I. Truett preceded him in death in 2013. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. There will be a viewing from 1:00 until the time of the service. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory to help defray funeral expenses.
