Jean B. Tuckey

Jean B. Tuckey, age 85, formerly of Biglerville, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Village of Laurel Run. She was born Monday, May 10, 1926 in Bendersville, the daughter of the late William L. and Harriet G. (Wetzel) Baumgardner. Jean was formerly employed by Musselmans in Gardners, where she worked in the cafeteria. She also worked for Bear Mountain Orchards in the packing house and picking cherries. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Wenksville. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilmore E. Tuckey who died in 2006, her daughter, Teresa J. Tuckey who died in 1971 and a grandson, Christopher Spangler, who died in 2004. Two daughters survive her: Cynthia A. Heller, Biglerville and Claudia W. Spangler, Gettysburg; a son, Steven W. Tuckey, Biglerville, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by six sisters: Margaret Taylor, Irma Lobaugh, Janet Huffnagle, Marie Starner, Mae Pitzer and Kathryn Baumgardner and three brothers: Harry, Merle and Norman Baumgardner. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 7 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 126 Church St., Bendersville with Reverend Robert S. McEllroy III officiating.
