Jeanne L. Motter, age 80 of Gardners, died Monday, March 18, 2013 at her home in Gardners. She was born Tuesday, July 12, 1932 in Dickinson Township, Cumberland County, the daughter of the late James H. and Elizabeth Ann (Bream) Howe. Jeanne graduated from Boiling Springs High School. She was formerly employed by C.H. Masland Co. in Carlisle. She had previously worked at C.H. Musselman in Gardners. She and her husband, Tom, owned and operated Motter's Store in Gardners for 10 years and she sold real estate for Century 21 in Gettysburg. She served as secretary for Tyrone Township for 29 years. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, G. Thomas Motter. She is also survived by two sons: Jeffery L. Motter of Plano, TX, and Brian J. Motter of Harrisburg; four grandsons; three sisters: Elizabeth B. Gladfelter of York, Joyce Eichelberger of Mechanicsburg and Kathy Line of Carlisle; one brother, James Howe, Jr., of Rehoboth Beach, DE. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael K. Motter, who died in 2012. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Graveside services will be held Friday, March 22 at 10:30 am in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 1380 Chambersburg Road, Gettysburg with Reverend Robert S. McEllroy, III officiating.
