Jeannette A. Asper

Jeannette Ann Asper, age 77 of Shippensburg, went to be with the Lord, at Holy Spirit Hospital on Thursday, October 30, 2014 after a long illness. Jeannette was born August 29, 1937 to Irene and Earl Yost in Shamokin, PA. Her husband of 60 years, Galen Stoey Asper, a sister, Mary C. Moore of Mesa, AZ, her daughters, Roxanne C. Asper of Shippensburg and Rosalie A. Asper of Newville, a son, Wade L. Asper and wife, Linda of Shippensburg; three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, a great-grandson and six step-great-grandchildren survive her. Jeannette was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Yost. Jeannette was a farmer's wife and in addition to her own, she mothered many other children throughout the years. Jeannette served her community for over 15 years as a committee chairperson for the Republican Party of Shippensburg Township. She was also a member of the Shippensburg Durff-Kuhn VFW Post 6168. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 8 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend Ken Waggoner officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to Shippensburg Independent Baptist Church, PO Box 363, Shippensburg, PA 17257 and American Heart Association, 417 Phoenix Drive, Suite A, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
