Jerry D. Miller

Jerry “JD” Miller, age 89, of Biglerville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2024, surrounded by his family at his home. He was born on August 1, 1934 in Reading, PA, the son of the late John D. and Pauline N. (Naugle) Miller.

Jerry graduated in the Class of 1952 from Biglerville High School. He went on to serve eight years for the National Guard. He retired from Inland Container in Biglerville, after working as an expeditor for 40 years. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Community Church in Orrtanna. He was also a member of the Biglerville American Legion Post 262, NRA, The Fraternal Order of Eagles, Fairfield AMVETS, Biglerville Historical and Preservation Society and a life member of Adams County Fish and Game. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, all kinds of wildlife and the outdoors, reading and gardening.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Virginia M. (Walde) Miller of Biglerville; daughter, Carol A. Holbrook and her husband, Louis of Biglerville; two grandchildren, Shelley and Ellen Holbrook and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by son, John D. Miller; two sisters, Marion Rupp and Ann Deardorf and brothers, John W. Miller and Donald E. Miller.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Funeral Services will be Private and at the family’s discretion.
