Jessie L Koontz

Jessie Larue (Alexander) Koontz, age 91, of Gardners died on Friday, December 24, 2010 at her home. She was born Monday, January 13, 1919 in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Thurman C. and Aura M. (Heckendorn) Alexander. Jessie graduated from Blain Vocational School in Perry County. In 1933, she received her beautician license from the State of PA.She ran her own salon from her home until 1990. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene W. Koontz who died in 1992. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy L. Koontz of Gardners and her son, Eugene A. (Bud) Koontz of Gardners, Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 28 at Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville with the Reverend Kenneth G. Swick officiating. Interment will be in Idaville Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Monday, December 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
