Joan V. Hunter

Joan Viola Hunter, age 71 of Shippensburg, passed away June 11, 2023 at home. She was born November 12, 1951 in Burnt Cabins to the late Howard L. and Cordelia M. (Murphy) Detwiler. Joan was a member of Green Springs Brethren in Christ Church and a member of VFW Post 6168, Shippensburg.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dallas Dale Hunter; sons, Jeffery Dale Hunter of Thomasville, NC and Mark Allen Hunter of Lewisberry; 4 grandchildren and sister, Dawn (Detwiler) Culley (late, Thomas). Joan was preceded in death by her brother, Barry Detwiler.

Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg. At the request of the family, viewing and graveside service will be private at the convenience of the family.
