Joanne M. Palmer

Joanne M. Palmer, age 69 of York Springs, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 her home after a courageous fight with Leukemia. She was born Sunday, July 28, 1946 in Gettysburg, the daughter of the late James W. and Pearl S. (Herman) Plank. Joanne graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1964. She was formerly employed by Dalco Sewing in York Springs and also at the bakery of Weis Markets in Gettysburg. She attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Gettysburg. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Rodney L. Palmer. She is also survived by a daughter, Wendy J. and husband Ryan Rupp of Dillsburg; two sons, Darrell L. Palmer of Carlisle, Kevin W. Palmer of York; three grandchildren, Aleysa Palmer, Justin Markle and Randyn Rupp and two step-grandchildren, Kristen Jacobs and Reese Rupp, and six sisters, Arlene Wisner of York Springs, Miriam Gilland of Blue Ridge Summit, Goldie Honeycutt of Keymar, MD, Esther Bigham of Fairfield, Treva Bream of Gettysburg, Charlotte Clowney of Barlow; three brothers, Harold and Harvey Plank both of Gettysburg, and Nevin Plank of Spring, TX. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 24 at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Gray officiating. Interment will be in Hampton Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Milton S.
