John A. Burik

John Allen Burik, age 62, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 22, 2019 surrounded by his family at his home in Shippensburg. He was born Saturday, October 13, 1956 in McKeesport, PA, the son of the late John Burik and Irene (Drosky) Burik. John graduated from McKeesport Area Senior High School in 1976. John then studied photography at the Art Institute in Pittsburgh. Later on, he worked for Shippensburg Area School District and Shippensburg University as a Custodian and he was a Theater Manager for Carmike Cinema’s in Chambersburg. He is survived by his loving wife, of 39 years, Theresa Ann (Polakovic) Burik of Shippensburg; sister, Michelle Burik (Klemm) and her husband, Barry of McKeesport, PA; sister-in-law, Marcella Lynn Polakovic of Pittsburgh, PA and niece, Jennifer Garner of McKeesport, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Clara Mae Hicks and sister-in-law, Linda Marie Polakovic. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg.
