John D. Moose, age 79 of Aspers, died Sunday, February 5, 2012 at his home. He was born Sunday, July 17, 1932 in Spring Grove, the son of the late Charles and Lillie (Pottorff) Moose. John graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1951. He was employed by Knouse Foods for over 40 years and served in the Army during the Korean War. His first wife, the former Marcella Slusser, died in 1974. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Mickley) Moose to whom he was married for 36 years. He is also survived by three stepdaughters: Donna M. Kuhn of Aspers, Pam Hewitt and husband Ron of Gardners, Karen Aldinger and husband Gary of Gardners; two stepsons: Scott Bolen and wife Jeanette of York Springs and Roger Bolen of Gardners; two sisters: Alice Gardner of York Springs and Jean Rhinehart of Gardners; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Kathryn Moose, three brothers: C. Edgar, Russell and Donald. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at Dugan Funeral Home on Saturday, February 11 at 12 Noon with Reverend Eric N. Anderson officiating. Interment with military services conducted by Adams County Allied Veterans will be in Goodyear Cemetery. A viewing will be held onSaturday from 10:30 AM until time of services.
