John Edward Myers, 64, of Washington, West Virginia, and formerly of Carlisle, PA, died after a long illness on Friday, November 12, 2010 at Camden Clark Hospital in Parkersburg, WV. He was born on August 21, 1946 in Carlisle, PA, the son of the late Raymond Myers and Ethel V. Carey Myers. He retired after 30 years of proud service to the United States Navy as a Command Master Chief, Radio Man. He was an avid restorer of cars and trucks who enjoyed taking the time to teach those same skills to both of his sons. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Linda L. Comittino Myers; two sons: John E. Myers, Jr. and his wife Connie S. Myers of Hull, IL and Edward L. Myers and his wife Lisa D. Myers of Shippensburg; three brothers: Raymond Myers of Newville, Robert Myers of Camp Hill and Charles Myers of Carlisle; four sisters: Mildred Deitch of Newville, Peggy Gruber of Middletown, Bonita Getz of Newville and Jane Wagner of Newville; two grandsons: Michael Brown and Logan Myers; one granddaughter, Kaelyn Myers; and one great granddaughter, Makayla Brown. He was predeceased by one brother, Kenneth Myers and one sister, Kay Myers. There will be a viewing from 6:00 PM to 8:00PM on Tuesday, November 16,at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, PA 17257, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, November 17 with the Reverend R. Bruce Henneman officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, Churchtown, PA. Serving as pallbearers will be:John Myers, Jr., Edward Myers, Charles Myers, Ray Myers, Robert Myers and Russ Snyder. The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to the Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory in Shippensburg, PA.
