John C. (Bud) Mickley, Sr. age 86 of Fairfield, formerly of Biglerville, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Village of Laurel Run. He was born Saturday, May 24, 1930 in Fairfield, the son of the late Earl and Clara M. (Kittinger) Mickley. John graduated from Biglerville High School in 1948. He was formerly employed by Inland Container for 46 years. He had also worked at NAPA in Gettysburg as a parts delivery person. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Biglerville. John enjoyed hunting, fishing and doing crossword puzzles. He enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music and attending Bluegrass music festivals. John served in the PA National Guard. He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Dolly V. (Phillips) Mickley. He is also survived by one daughter, Dianne K. and husband Craig McDannell of Orrtanna, a son, John C. Mickley, Jr. of Abbottstown, five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and sister, Carrie Wampler of Aspers. He was preceded in death by daughter Bonnie S. Mickley, two sisters; Mary Cool and Dorothy Moose and two brothers; Jay and Kenneth Mickley. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 20 at Dugan Funeral Home Bendersville with Reverend Gary Fanus officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, June 19 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
