John Paul "Jp" Sheaffer

John Paul “JP” “Tyke” Sheaffer, age 51 of Orrtanna, passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2024. He was born April 17, 1973 in Gettysburg, PA, to John E. and the late Janet M. (Cottrell) Sheaffer. John was a machine operator for UTZ Quality Foods in Hanover.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 262, Biglerville and the McSherrystown Home Association. JP loved spending time with his daughter, was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan, enjoyed sprint car racing and loved to try and make people laugh.

He is survived by his father, John E. Sheaffer of Orrtanna; daughter, Bethany Sheaffer of McSherrystown; co-parent, Brandy Sheaffer of McSherrystown; brother, Matt Sheaffer and wife, Amanda of Gettysburg and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends.
