John Robert Starry

John Robert Starry, age 73, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024 at his home in Mechanicsburg. He was born July 10, 1951 in Mechanicsburg, PA as the son of the late Robert Zeigler and Esther R. (Ritter) Taylor.

John graduated from Cumberland Valley High School. He worked as a delivery driver Whirlpool in Mechanicsburg for some time then worked as a forklift operator for Ralston Purina for many years. He was a member of the men’s Mechanicsburg Club. In his spare time, John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and everyone knew him for always enjoying his walks with his dog, Rocky.

John is survived by his four children, Robert Etter of Mechanicsburg; Bridget Ponchock and her husband, Daniel of Shiremanstown, PA; Julie Hardy and her husband, Davd of Fort Worth, TX and Jennifer L. Stoner and her husband, Michael of Mechanicsburg; seven grandchildren, two sisters, Suzie Taylor and her husband, Clyde of Aspers and Molly Hoffer and her husband, Chuck of Harrisburg and his beloved dog, Rocky. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, who passed April 14, 2023, Gloria J. (Seibert) Starry.
