John W. Constable

John W. Constable, Sr. age 74 of Biglerville, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at York Hospital. He was born Monday, May 9, 1938 in Johnstown, the son of the late Earl B. and Irene (Altemus) Constable. John was formerly employed as a supervisor by Oxford Container for 32 years. After retiring from Oxford Container, he worked for 12 years at Gettysburg Lutheran Home. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Gettysburg.He was also a member of Ira E. Lady American Legion Post 262 in Biglerville. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved to golf and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Annalee W. (Harman) Constable. He is also survived by two sons: John W. Constable, Jr. of Biglerville, David A. Constable of Gettysburg; two sisters: LaDonna Balding of Lancaster, Nancy Asper of Biglerville; one brother, Blake Constable of Biglerville and two grandchildren: Jordan and Katie Constable both of Biglerville. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, May 7 at 1:30 PM at First Baptist Church of Gettysburg, 1015 Chambersburg Road, Gettysburg with Reverend Carl Harris officiating. Interment will be in Benders Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 924 N. Colonial Avenue, York, PA 17403.
