Jon E. Chronister

Jon E. Chronister, age 52 of Biglerville, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 at home. He was born Saturday, September 12, 1964 in Gettysburg, the son of Donald C. and the late Marion E. (Heiser) Chronister. Jon graduated from Biglerville High School in 1983. He was a barber at Chronister's Barber Shop, Biglerville and Nelson's Barber Shop, Mt. Holly Springs. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was part owner of Longspur Hunting Camp, a member of Bear Track Hunting Club and Sterling Run Sportsman Hunting Club. You could often see Jon's truck along theConewago Creek.Jon's hunting buddies called him "Jonny Crow". He enjoyed taking his labs Sadie and Maggie for rides in the mountain and hunting at the pheasant farm. Also in his spare time, Jon enjoyed watching Philadelphia sports and Penn State Football on the weekends with his family and friends. Jon was also a member of Biglerville American Legion Post 262. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Stacy (Weaver) Chronister. He is also survived by step-daughter Lauren Martin of Phoenix, AZ, sisters, Tammy Keefer of Fairfield, Bonnie Brownawell of Aspers, brothers, Todd Chronister of Shiremanstown, Jody Chronister of Gettysburg, five nieces and one nephew. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 15 at Foursquare Church New Oxford, 225 New Chester Road, Gettysburg with Reverend Mark Chester officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services.
