Jose I. Velazquez

Jose Israel Velazquez, age 47 of Chambersburg, passed away on January 16, 2022. He was born January 22, 1974 in Mexico City, Mexico the son of Cipriano Velazquez and Alicia Rodriguez. He is the husband of Marleny Velazquez of Chambersburg. Jose was a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Mt. Rock Brethren in Christ Church. He was also a licensed pastor with the Brethren in Christ, loved gardening and was a family man. His daughters meant the world to him. Jose was a gifted musician and loved to play the keyboard, guitar and drums. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters; Alice Velazquez, Victoria Velazquez and Jeanie Ortega; granddaughters, Daisy and Jasmine; siblings, Cipriano, Lorena, Margarita, Lucia, Sergio, Rosalilia and Moises and numerous nieces and nephews. Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg. A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until time of Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 19 at Mt Rock Brethren in Christ Church, 22 Mt Rock Road, Shippensburg. An extended visitation will be held following the service. Jose will be laid to rest at Mt Rock Cemetery.
