Joseph Jay Tocco

d. Sep 30, 2026

Joseph "Joe" J. Tocco was born on March 1st, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Joseph Tocco and Pauline (Gelnett) Tocco.

Joe was a man of few words, but you never had to guess what his opinion was. While often reserved, his knowledge spanned innumerous areas of expertise and his quick-tongued, sarcastic innuendos made you always chuckle under your breath. His terms of endearment usually took shape in the form that many would probably find offensive, and he wouldn't miss the opportunity to tell you, "a blind man on a galloping horse could have seen that."

Aside from his fondness for old western movies, American history, and metal detecting, Joe loved his country, his guns, and, most of all, his family. He proudly served our United States Navy upon the USS Damato and was awarded numerous federal recognitions throughout his career. During his time serving in the Navy, he met his wife, Helen and together, they raised their 3 sons: Joseph Jr, Anthony, and Vincent.

Joe always had a family-first mentality through his quiet compassion and even-toned disposition. Whether it be tending to the garden, hunting seasons, beekeeping, competitive shooting, road trips, and so much more, Joe had a way of turning ordinary experiences into lasting memories. Joe especially enjoyed hunting and fishing which he instilled in each of his sons. That passion drew him to Upper Adams Fish and Game Club, where he earned a Lifetime Membership for his dedication and years of service.

Joe was the embodiment of loyalty, respect, commitment, and a never-ceasing love for those closest to him. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Helen, his sons: Joseph Tocco (and wife, Nicole, of Aspers, PA), Anthony Tocco (and wife, Kimberly, of Aspers, PA) and Vincent Tocco (and wife, Beth, of Gardners, PA), his grandchildren, and sisters: JoAnn Price of Gettysburg, PA, and Paula Alameda of Nacogdoches, TX

We never know how long we have. All we know is it is never long enough. Joe passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 30th, 2026. He was deeply loved and will be incredibly missed but will forever live on in the memories and stories we continue to tell.

It's not goodbye, it's see you later - assalamualaikum.
