Joyce L. Swope

Joyce Louise (Kuhn) Swope, age 80, of Boiling Springs died Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. Joyce was born Friday, July 18, 1930 in Bendersville the daughter of the late Lloyd W. and Mary E. (Garrettson) Kuhn. Joyce graduated from Biglerville High School in 1948. She was president of Penn Products Corporation and was also instrumental in the development of White Rock Acres in Monroe Township. She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Churchtown. Her husband Richard Swope died in 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy L. McCorkel, Boiling Springs; her sons: Gregory R. Swope, Boiling Springs and John D.and wife Megan Swope, Dillsburg; three grandchildren: Eric McCorkel, Mark Swope and Michael Swope; a sister, Jean Horick of Fayetteville and a brother, Ronald Kuhn of Bendersville. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 22, at the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 325 Old Stonehouse Road, Boiling Springs with Reverend Doris Nolan officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery.
