Katherine "Kay" E. Keller

Katherine Elizabeth "Kay" Keller, age 88, died Friday, September 7, 2012 at Cross Keys Brethern Home. She was the oldest daughter of the late Leslie Harry and Katherine S. (Toner) Keller, Bendersville. Kay was born in Bendersville,Pennsylvania, graduated from Biglerville High School in 1942 and Penn State University in 1946.She taught home economics at Manchester High School, York County and after returning to Penn State for her Master's Degree in Food Science, taught at Mansfield University, Mansfield. Upon retirement in 1983, she returned to Bendersville where she was a life member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Kay enjoyed playing bridge, watching tennis on TV, and especially cooking, specializing in delicious foods. She was a member Gettysburg Chapter BL PEO and Upper Adams Homemakers. She is survived by one sister and brother in law, Barbara and Harold Garretson of Gettysburg. A doting aunt, she is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews: Daniel Garretson, Angela Perkinson, Thomas Garretson, Leslie Baust, Bruce Garretson, Jennie Gordon, John C Jones, Jr., Laurie Steele, Beth McSherry, Thomas Jones and Barbara Barnard and many great and great great nieces and nephews. She waspreceded in death by one sister Joyce Keller Jones in 2001, brother-in-law,John C. Jones, Sr. in 2011 and a niece Katherine (Kathy) Jones in 2010. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 126 Church Street, Bendersville with Reverend Robert S. McEllroy lll officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AMuntil time of services Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, P.O.
