Kathleen M. (Starner) Taylor, age 81of Biglerville, died Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Gettysburg Hospital. She was born Thursday, December 24, 1931 in Bendersville, the daughter of the late Roy and Edna (Hoffman) Starner. Kathleen graduated from Biglerville High School in 1950. She and her husband Owen owned and operated Taylor's Greenhouse outside Arendtsville for many years. She had also worked as a switchboard operator for the United Telephone Company in Carlisle. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Arendtsville. Kathleen was an artist, having designed the cover for her high school yearbook. She also was a seamstress; gardener and she loved to cook. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, D. Owen Taylor. She is also survived by her daughter, Karen E. and husband Craig Hocker of Biglerville; two sons: Donald R. and wife Linda Taylor of Biglerville and Timothy O. Taylor of Kansas City, MO; a sister, Janice Welker of Mentor, OH, two brothers: Roy Starner and Keith Starner, both of York; four grandchildren: Kurt and Kent Taylor, Kelly Hocker and Colin Taylor and two great grandchildren, Zachary and Sophia Taylor. Cremation services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 11 at Zion United Church of Christ, 22 Gettysburg Street, Arendtsville with Reverend Kim Blocher officiating.
