Kathryn E. Kime

Kathryn E. (nee Bucher) Kime, age 84 of Gettysburg, died on Friday, April 20, 2012. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Roland W. Kime, her brother Paul Bucher, her children: Beverly Levis (Scott), Bradley Kime (Sarah) and Sandra Fitzgerald (Bill); and her five grandchildren: Jenn, Ben, Jeff, Amanda, and Becca. She was born Sunday, October 23, 1927 in Gettysburg, the daughter of the late Dean and Ethel(Bluebaugh) Bucher. Kathryn graduated from Gettysburg High School Class of 1945. Sheworked at Gettysburg College, Musselman's and Gettysburg Office of the Aging. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Gettysburg, where she sang in the Martin Luther Choir, was a member of the Good Samaritan Sunday School Class and Caregivers, and assisted the church treasurer. She was active in the Adams County Extension Homemakers. She was an avid bowler at Upper Adams Lanes and participated in the Pennsylvania Senior Olympic Games where she competed in darts, shuffleboard and Bocce. Kay enjoyed square dancing and round dancing and danced with the Gettysburg Cannonaders, Flirts Skirts of Mechanicsburg and Dance-A-Round. She also enjoyed quilting, needlepoint and crocheting. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday, April 24 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Dugan Funeral Home, Inc. 111 South Main Street, Bendersville and Wednesday, April 25 at 10:00 AM at Saint James Lutheran Church, 109 York Street, Gettysburg followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM.REverend JeanetteLeisk will officiate.Kay will be laid to rest in the Bendersville Cemetery.
