Kenneth S. Pitzer

Kenneth S. Pitzer, age 75, of Biglerville died Monday, October 1, 2012 at Golden Living in Gettysburg. He was born Friday, December 18, 1936 in Menallen Township, Adams County, the son of the late Maurice E. and Edna C. (Warren) Pitzer, Sr. Kenneth graduated from Biglerville High School in 1956. He was self employed as a carpenter for many years. Ken retired from Upper Adams School District where he served as custodian at Arendtsville Elementary for 17 years. He wasmember ofWenksville United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir, served as trustee and was a Sunday School teacher and Superintedent of the Sunday School, Bendersville Fire Company, and Wenksville Cemetery Association. He served in the 28th Infantry Division of PA National Guard from 1955-1961. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Levona A. (Black) Pitzer. He is also survived by his daughter: Lisa A. Pitzer-Byersand his son, Gregg N. and wife Judy Pitzer, allof Biglerville, a sister, Louetta Showers of Aspers, his brother, Maurice E. Pitzer, Jr. of Biglerville; and five grandchildren: Scot Pitzer, Michael Pitzer, Jamie Pitzer, Kyle Byers and Cory Byers. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 5 at Wenksville United Methodist Church, 2010 Wenksville Road, Biglerville with Reverend James R. Speelman officiating. Interment will be in Wenksville Cemetery.A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 4 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A viewing will also be held at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's Association, 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305.
