Kurt Dennis "Denny" Moore, age 64, of Newville, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lebanon. He was born Saturday, January 31, 1953 in Carlisle, the son of the late Enochand Mary (Wiser) Moore. He was a graduate of Carlisle High School. He worked for the Big Spring School District in maintenance facilities. He was a member of the American Legion, Big Spring Fish Game Association, and Maryland and New York Chapters of the Brotherhood of the Jungle Cock. He proudly served in the United States Navy. For over 50 years, his heart and home has been Shelley Island in the Susquehanna. From a young boy to raising his own family there, Shelley Island was a big part of who he was. He was an avid fly fisherman and was a fervent believer of instructing and mentoring young people on conservation of natural resources for generations to come. He was known for his sharp wit and vast knowledge and was always willing to share and help anyone. It would be his wish that others see the world around as he did; with wonder and appreciation of the small moments and a passion for wildlife and nature.
