L. Jane Trinklein

Lois Jane Trinklein, age 88, formerly of Shippensburg, passed away on May 25, 2017 at the Village at Brookfield Commons in Brookfield, CT. Born on July 26, 1928 in Saginaw, MI, she was a daughter to the late George and Helen (Witte) Herrman. She graduated from Saginaw High in 1946, obtained a BA in Secondary Education from Capital University in 1950, and an MS in Library Science from Shippensburg State College in 1972. Jane married Lloyd A. Trinklein August 16, 1952 in Saginaw. She was a teacher in her early professional life and later became a librarian. She moved to Shippensburg with her family in 1966. She served as the Director of the Shippensburg Public Library from 1973 to 1990. She was very active in her community. She was a long time member of Memorial Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and served on the Church Council and the Social Ministry Committee. Jane became the first female member of the Shippensburg Rotary Club and remained active until 2016. She also volunteered at Christ Among Neighbors and was a member of the Shippensburg University Faculty Wives. She is survived by two sons, Kim and wife Kate Trinklein of Bethel, CT and Marc and wife Imelda Trinklein of Palmdale, CA; three granddaughters, Sheila (Brandon) Sutton of Boxford, MA, Kyla (Zach) Stetson of Bethel, Alicia Trinklein both of Bethel and four great-grandchildren, Avery, Collin and Declan Sutton and Addison Stetson. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 10 at Memorial Lutheran Church, 34 E. Orange Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257 with Pastor Dana Blouch-Hanson officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 until time of services. A visitation will also be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 9 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Capital University, Attn: Development, 1 College and Main, Columbus, OH 43209, Christ Among Neighbors, 130 S.
