Larry L. Wood

Larry L. Wood, 63, Hanover died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Hanover Hospital. He was born Friday, September 20, 1946 in Gettysburg the son of the late Wilda J. (Baugher) Sheaffer. Larry graduated from Biglerville High School in 1964. Hewas retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in Harrisburg where he was employed for 35 years. Upon his retirement he enjoyed his model trains, his fast cars and his grandchildren to whom he was known as 'Pappy'. Larry also enjoyed his family vacations in Cape May, NJ. He was a member Calvary Bible Church in Hanover. He served in U.S. Armyduring the Vietnam War . He is survived by his wife and companion of 27 years Sandra (Taylor) Miller. He is also survived by a stepdaughter, Crystal Czapp and husband Mark of Spring Grove, stepson Anthony Miller and wife Kim of Spring Grove; one brother Doug Sheaffer of East Berlin, four grandchildren: Ryan and Emma Miller and Sarah and David Czapp. He was preceded in death by one brother David Sheaffer. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc. 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Calvary Bible Church, 603 Wilson Ave., Hanoverwith the Pastor Dr. Mike Osladil officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery. A visitation will be held in the church from 10:00 AM until time of services.
