He was one of four sons, and he is survived by his two brothers, Thomas, his wife Pat, of Shippensburg, and Ronald, his wife Betty, of Cloverdale, VA. Brother Bruce of Martinsburg, WV and his wife Isabel are both predeceased. Larry is survived by his daughter, Ronda Watson of Glenolden, PA, and sons: Shane Watson (and predeceased spouse, Sharon), Joel Watson both of Shippensburg, PA., and Troy Watson and his spouse, Dennis Wolfgang of Lititz, PA. He married his high school sweetheart, Audrey, for 64 years. A professional meat cutter, butcher and department manager by trade, he was the forever helpful, smiling face behind the meat counter at Cressler’s Food Market, Hughes Super Thrift, and most recently, The Butcher Shoppe in Chambersburg, where he retired in 2002. Larry was an avid, inquisitive collector, with particular interests in furniture, timepieces, watches and other small valuables. He was also an expert antique furniture repairman. He could easily restore and refinish a heavily damaged antique chair into a beautiful restoration. He did restorations of antique trunks, clocks, tables and picture frames, among other items, for both friends and family, and for anyone who sought out his expertise through local referrals. He was an avid hiker, lover of nature, and he especially enjoyed a good laugh while hiking with the entire family at the lake, the Rail Trail, or Appalachian Trial. Larry and his wife, Audrey, cherished time with family at home, especially the holidays, and Thanksgiving Day hikes were especially memorable for his children. A private family service and burial will be held, Friday, October 22, 2021. Memorial contributions may be made to The Cumberland Valley Rail Trail, CVRT, PO Box 531, Shippensburg, PA 17257, or the hospice organization, Bridging Life, Development Office, 200 Memorial Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
