Lawrence Walter Hays, Jr.

Lawrence Walter Hays, Jr., age 102, formerly of Biglerville, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at Village of Laurel Run in Fayetteville. He was born Friday, December 24, 1915 in Audubon, NJ, the son of the late Lawrence W. and Marguerite (Orem) Hays. Walt graduated from Burlington High School in NJ. He along with his wife and family built and operated the Piney Apple Golf Course. His wife, Elizabeth (Bosak) Hays, passed in 2014. He is survived by three daughters, M. Lynn and husband Richard Borys of Beach Haven, NJ, Marguerite A. (Peg) and husband Tony Buch of Biglerville, Elizabeth L. and husband John Rinehart of Gardners; three sons, L. Walter Hays, III and Bess Hays of Arendtsville, F. Douglas and wife Tonya Hays of Aspers, David L. and wife Patte Hays of Biglerville, seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Beamer and Marguerite Newberry. Cremation services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Services will be held at the discretion of the family.
