Lawrence T. Walde, age 83, of Arendtsville died Sunday morning, September 23, 2012 at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born Tuesday, May 7, 1929 in Lykens, the son of the late Paul K. and Mary J. (Schmink) Walde. Lawrence graduated from Biglerville High School in 1949. He was employed as a chief lineman by Metropolitan Edison of Gettysburg for 38 years. He was a member of the Great Conewago Presbyterian Church in Hunterstown, Upper Adams Fish and Game, Arendtsville Fire Company where he had served as president, NRA, and a social member of Ira E. Lady American Legion Post 262 in Biglerville. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Glenna E. (Pyles) Walde. He is also survived by two sons: Steven K. Walde of Arendtsville and Randall M. Walde of Biglerville; two granddaughters: Jennifer Walde of Chicago and Brooke Hunter of Biglerville; two grandsons: Christopher Walde of Fort Dix, NJ and Steven P. Walde of Chicago; one great-granddaughter, Shyenne Hunter of Biglerville; one sister, Virginia Miller of Biglerville, and one brother, Joseph Walde of Gettysburg. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 27 at Dugan Funeral Home with the Reverend Kim Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Wenksville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 26 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
