Leona M. Marpoe

Leona Marie Marpoe, age 71 of Shippensburg, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at home. Born April 8, 1950 in Newville, she was a daughter of the late Charles Shields, Sr. and Demmie (Geyer) McKee. She was widowed by her husband, Lawrence Marpoe, Jr. Leona worked as a seamstress for Franklin Clothing and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her family was everything to her. She is survived by her son, Douglas Shields of Shippensburg; daughter, Kimberly Monn and husband, Andrew of Shippensburg; grandchildren: Kaleb Shields and wife, Hope of Tennessee, Bethany Shields of Newville, Christina Kerley of Newville, Ashley Kerley of Shippensburg, Michelle Kerley of Chambersburg, Kelsey Starr and husband, Parker of Chambersburg and Kylee Fogelsonger and husband, Patric of Newville, 5 great-grandchildren, sister, Mary Bowermaster and husband, Roy of Shippensburg and brothers; Charles Shields, Jr. of Shippensburg and William Shields of Florida. Leona was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth Shields and Thomas Shields, great-grandson, Parker Starr, Jr. and great-granddaughter, Riley Shields. Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, where family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until time of memorial service at 5:00 PM Thursday, December 16, with Pastor Wayne A. Good officiating. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.
