Leonard O. Zimmerman

Leonard O. Zimmerman, age 22, of Shippensburg, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022 in Tyro, VA. He was born Tuesday, June 8, 1999 in Shippensburg, the son of the Norman R. and Vera R. (Oberholtzer) Zimmerman. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Harvey and Ella Zimmerman and maternal grandfather, Ephraim Oberholtzer. He is survived by his maternal grandmother Mrs. Ephraim Oberholtzer. Leonard was employed by Pro Fence in Shippensburg. He was a member of Shippensburg Old Order Mennonite Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by nine brothers; Jason Zimmerman married to Lorene Leinbach of Shippensburg, Marlin Zimmerman married to Ada Mae Zimmerman of Shippensburg, Norman Ray Zimmerman married to Karen Reiff of Shippensburg, James Zimmerman married to Lorraine Zimmerman of Wisconsin, Allen Zimmerman married to Marilyn Zimmerman of Wisconsin, Dwight Zimmerman married to Verna Zimmerman of Shippensburg, Jerry Zimmerman married to Ruth Elaine Nolt of Shippensburg, Lawrence Zimmerman married to Dorcas Reiff of Shippensburg, and Curvin Zimmerman of Mt. Crawford, VA. He is also survived by three sisters; Miriam Zimmerman married to Paul Zimmerman, Jr. of Chambersburg, Ruth Ann Zimmerman married to Andrew Martin of Shippensburg, Janet Zimmerman married to Lavon Zimmerman of Shippensburg, maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ephraim Oberholtzer. He was preceded in death by one niece, Michelle Zimmerman of Wisconsin. Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Shippensburg Old Order Mennonite Church, Duncan Road, Shippensburg. Bishop Isaac Weaver will be officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A Viewing will be held at the Zimmerman home, 1134 Ritner Highway, Shippensburg, on Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. His family requests the omission of flowers.
