(Lesley) Rhoda Coleman

Lesley Rhoda Coleman, age 70, of Shippensburg, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Chambersburg Hospital. She was born December 25, 1945 in Plains, GA, the daughter of the late Leroy and Loris (Wise) Walker. Rhoda graduated from Plains High School, Plains, GA in 1963. She was a member of Our Lady of the Visitation. She was a member of the Chambersburg YMCA and a "lifelong member" of Weight Watchers. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Patrick F. Coleman. She is also survived by her daughter Ann R. Coleman (husband David Raynes) of Baltimore, and two sons: Patrick F. Coleman, III, of Baltimore and David B. Coleman of Seneca, SC. Rhoda is survived by many nieces and nephews and countless dear friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, LaVerne Gallman, two brothers, David and John Walker, and a number of great-aunts and uncles. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, July 6 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, with Father Dwight Schlaline officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 5:00 PM. A gathering of family and friends will be held outside Atlanta on Saturday, June 9thfrom 4:00 to 7:00 PM. It will be hosted by Jean Pearson and Wayne Francis at their home, 4800 Holmes Farm Court, Marietta GA 30066; anyone needing assistance with directions, please call 770-928-1745. A Memorial Mass in Baltimore will be held on Friday, July 22 at 2:00 PM at Saint Ignatius Catholic Community, The Jesuit Church of Baltimore, 740 North Calvert Street, Baltimore, MD 21202. Phone: 410-727-3848. There are plans to have a memorial mass at Our Lady of the Lake RC Church in Edinboro, PA. Date and time are not yet confirmed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to one or more of the following organizations be considered: Habitat for Humanity (www.habitat.org), Southern Poverty Law Center (www.SPLCenter.org), and Army Emergency Relief (www.aerhq.org).
