Lester E Bierbower

Lester E. Bierbower, 70, Chambersburg died Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Manor Care Nursing and Rehab, Chambersburg. He was born Friday, March 15, 1940 in Harrisburg, the son of the late Lester N. and Myrtle (Beck) Bierbower. Lester graduated from Central Dauphin High School in 1957. He served in the United States Army from March 17, 1957 until 1975. He then served the PA Air National Guard until his retirement as a sergeanton March 14, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Margaret E. (Spahr) Bierbower to whom he was married for 7 years. He is also survived by a son, Lester N. Bierbower, II of Key West, FL; four stepdaughters: Barbara Ketterman of New Oxford, Linda Colkitt of Gettysburg, Judy Reynolds of Greencastle, Evon Wiseman of Chambersburg; and a sister, Jeanette Smith of Harrisburg.He is also survived by his stepmother Patricia Bierbower of Sebring, FL; 12 step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. Lester was preceded in death by his daughter, Melody K. Bierbower who died in 1970 and his son, Stephen Van Bierbower who died in 1972. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg.Memorial services will be held Wednesday, December 29, at 1:00pm at Trinity United Church of Christ, 300 E. York Street, Biglerville with the Reverend George Heberling officiating. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
