Linda K. Cleveland, age 83 of New Oxford, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Crosskeys Village, The Brethren Home in New Oxford. She was born Thursday, January 26, 1933 in Boston, the daughter of the late Louis P. and Gwendolyn R. (Ellis) Kooken, Jr. Linda graduated from Biglerville High School in 1951. Shewas formerly employed by Columbia Gas for 19 years. She had also worked for Aero Oil in New Oxford and for Dr. Raymond Sheely in Gettysburg for several years. She was a member of Calvary Bible Church in Hanover, Adams County Historical Society, Hunterstown Historical Society, South Mountain Steam Engine Association and Civil War Reenactors of Hanover. Her first husband, John H. Allison, Jr., passed away in 1995. Her second husband, Robert C. Cleveland, Jr., passed away in 2011. She is survived by two daughters, Lou Ann Miller of York Springs, Terri L. and husband Kerry A. Klinedinst of Hanover, one son, John C. and wife Kristin Allison of Biglerville,four grandsons, David S. Dillon, Jr. of East Berlin, Cory A. Klinedinst of Hanover, Andrew Maffett of Mechanicsburg, and Alex Maffett of Richmond, VA,one great-granddaughter Veronica M. Dillon, three sisters, Leigh Utsch of Tucson, AZ, Margaret Grove of Traverse City, MI Elizabeth Swartz of Aurora, CO, two brothers, Thomas Kooken of Lakewood, CO, Ronald DeRamus of Nokesville, VA, cousin, Edell Straight of Okeechobee, FL and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Louis P. Kooken, III. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM onSaturday, February 20 at Calvary Bible Church, 603 Wilson Avenue, Hanover, PA 17331 with Pastor Dr.Michael Osladil officiating. Interment will be in Biglerville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association of Hanover Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331 or online at VNA.org.
