Linda K. (Showers) Cramer of Carlisle, PA passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024 at Cumberland Crossings Nursing Home in Carlisle.
Linda was born on May 29, 1947 in Gardners, PA. She is the daughter of the late Oriola and Grayson Showers. Linda graduated from Biglerville High School and later attended the Carlisle School of Practical Nursing. After graduating, she was employed at the Carlisle Hospital as an LPN. Linda worked in Gettysburg at several nursing facilities part-time after early retirement from the Carlisle Hospital. She was a member of the Idaville United Brethren Church and later became a member of the Salvation Army Church in Carlisle. She was involved in the Women’s Ministries and helped elsewhere as needed. Linda cared for many family members during their time of illness.
She enjoyed her family and friends, especially all of the grandchildren. She had all types of fur-babies over the years which she loved a lot. She had flower beds and her favorite were Morning Glory flowers. She loved anything that smelled like vanilla and green was her favorite color. Her pastimes included Cooking (Lima-Bean Pot Pie), baking, meeting the “girls” for lunch, going to carnivals, her trips to Florida and a “big trip” to Hawaii. Linda always had a book around to read and her favorite author was Beverly Lewis. She even enjoyed horseback and dirt bike riding back in the day.
She is survived by her husband Edward Cramer of Gettysburg; her two children, Jeffrey E. Cramer (Michele), of Aspers, PA and Deborah A. Keller of Keyser, WV. In addition, she had four grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one sister Anna Saum (Joe), of Bendersville; three brothers, Freeman Showers (Vickie), of Aspers, Paul Ray Showers (Lisa), of Aspers, Robert Showers, of Carlisle and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Linn, of Carlisle, PA. and three sisters, Mary Lou Richwine, Sandy Showers and Donna Shreve.
Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. A private interment will be held with the family at a later date.
