Linda E. Bigler, age 65 of Chambersburg, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Chambersburg Hospital. She was born Thursday, September 16, 1948 in McConnellsburg, the daughter of the late George L. and Martha E. (Cooper) Thomas. Linda was formerly employed by Baer Packing in Greencastle for several years. She had been a volunteer with Franklin County Head Start, playing guitar for the students. Her greatest love was music, especially playing the guitar. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening her roses, and giving of her time and love to others. Her husband, Galen R. Bigler passed June 30, 1994. She is survived by three daughters, April L. and husband Robert M. Stoner of Hagerstown, Gale L. Bigler of Chambersburg, Rebecca E. and husband Ronald S. Vazzola of Falling Waters, WV; a son, Corey R. Bigler of Chambersburg; eight grandchildren, Amanda R. Stoner, Celeste C. Vazzola, Robert M. Stoner, Julie M. Vazzola, Jennifer R. Stoner, Meagan E. Vazzola, Hayden M. Bigler, Merlia R. Bigler; two sisters, Patricia J. Seville of Shippensburg and Judith A. Foreman of Chambersburg; a brother, George Richard Thomas of Chambersburg, and close friend and caregiver Victoria Hoover of Chambersburg. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara C. Everetts and two brothers, Leroy L. Thomas and Roy A. Thomas. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. A viewing will be held Monday, February 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 28 at 12:00 noon at First United Methodist Church, 225 South 2nd Street, Chambersburg with Reverend Dianne Salter officiating. A reception will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, PA 17257 to assist the family with funeral expenses.
