Linda M. Gatchel

Linda Mary Gatchel, age 78, of Chambersburg, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Menno Haven-Chambers Pointe, Chambersburg. She was born October 14, 1942 in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Milton P. and Edythe E. (Creep) Gatchel. Linda graduated from Middletown High School and attended Lebanon Valley for her undergraduate degree and then earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She worked as a librarian for Shippensburg University for many years. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and traveling the world. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 22 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 206 E. Burd Sreet., Shippensburg with Mother Barbara Hutchinson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ezra Lehman Memorial Library in Shippensburg, 1871 Old Main Drive, Shippensburg, PA 17257 or the Linda Gatchel Honors Program Scholarship Fund at the Shippensburg University Foundation, 500 Newburg Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
