Lisa Y. Metzger, age 55 of York Springs, went to be with the angels Sunday, February 21, 2016. She was born Monday, September 12, 1960 in Carlisle, the daughter of Almera L. (Kuhn) Metzger of York Springs and the late Jack E. Metzger. Lisa attended Bermudian Springs High School. She graduated from Cumberland Valley Adult Education Program. She was formerly employed by Pfaltzgraff Pottery in Aspers. Lisa lived life to the fullest. She loved sharing her home decorating tips, ideas on landscaping and flower gardens. She enjoyed poetry, playing board games, hummingbirds and shopping. Lisa was a very good listener and has inspired, encouraged and touched many lives. She had a special love for all children and a total zest for life. Lisa always had a contagious smile and compassion for others before herself. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband Donald E. Slaybaugh, one sister, Barbie L. Clingan and companion Bernie Welenc of Lakeland, FL, two brothers, Eugene L. and wife Sharon A. Metzger of Hanover, Keith L. and wife Marge E. Metzger of Boiling Springs, nephew Matthew and wife Veita Hummer, niece Becky and husband Joel Sullivan, niece Renee and husband Jesse Shindel, nephews Benjamin, Jacob, and Nicholas Clingan, step-daughter, Becki Slaybaugh,five step-grandchildren andtwo step-great-grandchildren and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Russell and Ruth Kuhn and paternal grandparents Morris and Hannah Metzger. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 26, 2016 at Dugan Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Warner officiating.Interment will be in Uriah Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 25 at Dugan Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 1:00 PM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to York Springs Ambulance Association, PO Box 315, York Springs, PA 17372.
