Lloyd M. Uphold

Lloyd M. Uphold, age 62 of Aspers, died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at York Hospital. He was born Friday, September 8, 1950 in Mechanicsburg, the son of Charles E. Uphold of Meyersdale, PA and Alice (Hill) Jenkins of Frostburg, MD. Lloyd graduated from Biglerville High School Class of 1969. He was employed by Science Applications International Corp. in Columbia, MD for 14 years. He was a member of Bendersville United Methodist Church, Ira E. Lady American Legion Post 262 in Biglerville and Adams County Sheriffs Association He served in the U.S. Air Force from July of 1969 until April 1981, having earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lorna M. (Brough) Uphold. He is also survived by a daughter, Heather M. Crum of Mount Airy, MD, a son, Andrew C. Uphold of Aspers; two grandsons: Jacob Lloyd Mains and Tyler Alan Mains, both of Mt. Airy, one brother, Clifford Uphold of New Jersey, and a brother-in-law, Rodger L. Brough of Aspers. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 25 at Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville with Reverend James R. Speelman officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday October 25 from 9:30 AM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 924 N.
