Lois B. Gantz, age 85 formerly of Aspers, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Lutheran Home in Gettysburg. She was born Saturday, June 19, 1926 in Southwest Madison Township, Perry County, the daughter of the late J. Seibert and Vera (McMillen) Barclay. Lois graduated from Blain Vocational High School, Perry County and Carlisle Business Institute. Shewas formerly employed as a secretary at Gettysburg College.She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Aspers, where she taught Sunday School and was a pianist for over 40 years. She was also a former member of Ira E. Lady American Legion Post 262 Auxiliary in Biglerville and the Aspers Fire Company Auxiliary. Her husband Jewell A. Gantz died in 1996. She is survived by two sons: Wayne E. and wife Sheila Gantz and Larry S. and wife Francene Gantz, all of Aspers; four grandchildren: Mary and Jacob, both in Rochester, NY, Ivy, of Aspers, Frank and his wife Miriam, and two great grandchildren, Brianna and Trenton, all of Aspers. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam D. Gantz. She is the last of her siblings of two sisters and one brother. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, May 18 at Christ Lutheran Church, 1420 Center Mills Rd., Aspers with Reverend Robert S. McEllroy lll officiating. Interment will be in Biglerville Cemetery. Viewings will be held at Dugan Funeral Home, 111 South Main Street, Bendersville on Thursday, May 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and at Christ Lutheran Church on Friday, May 18 from 2:00 PM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, PO Box 165, Aspers, PA 17304.
