Gardners

Lori Lee (Gorog) Nelson, 59, of Gardners, passed into the loving arms of her precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 27, 2025 at York Hospital. She was born on May 15, 1966 in Allentown, Pennsylvania to Rev. Paul and Melinda (Strohl) Gorog.

Above all, Lori loved The Lord and had a personal relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a missionary to Venezuela and Guatemala sharing Jesus, and became fluent in Spanish so she could best communicate with the people she came into contact with during her trip. As her girls were growing up, Lori volunteered at school at Santa’s workshop and as a homeroom mom. She loved children and was a part of children’s church ministries in the past. Lori was a potter, owned Nelson’s Pottery, held pottery classes in her home studio, and was a teacher at The Adams County Arts Council. Lori attended Gettysburg Bible Baptist Church.

Not only was Lori always creating with her hands, she continually used them to help others in their time of need. She was very crafty, made wedding cakes, and enjoyed cooking. She looked forward to puzzle and board game days with friends. Lori loved the color green and loved frogs. Her favorite place to go for rest and relaxation was Camp Gorog in Potter County.

She is survived by her parents of Dover; her husband of 33 years, David Nelson; daughters, Colleen Hardman and husband Jason of Aspers, Ashley Cordero and husband Brandon of Aspers, and Kailee Mae Nelson O’Handly and husband James of York; grandchildren, Gage Cordero and Willow Hardman; and sister Beth Musser and husband Jeff of Dillsburg. Lori was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Gorog.
