Mrs. Louise A. Carey, age 80 of Aspers died Sunday morning, June 19, 2011 at her home. She was born Saturday, July 19, 1930 in Greenmount,the daughter of the late Ralph and Pearl (Pitzer) Stoner. Louise graduated from Biglerville High School. She was employed as a lab technician by Knouse Foods Inc.,Peach Glenfrom which she retired in 1993. She was a member ofSt. James Lutheran Church in Wenksville where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She had been a Girl Scout Leader in Bendersville and was a member of Upper Adams Senior Citizens. She is survived by her husband William R. Carey to whom she was married for almost 63 years. She is also survived by her daughter, Kay R. and husband Jeff Black, Gettysburg, her son, Dennis C. Carey and wife Karen, Bendersville, a sister, Joyce Eicholtz, Arendtsville and a brother, Harold Stoner, Aspers. In addition, she is survived by four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Janice L. Carey, a son, David R. Carey (2007), and sisters Janet Showers and Pauline Funt. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 23, at St. James Lutheran Church, Wenksville with Reverend Robert S. McEllroy, III officiating.A viewing will be held at Dugan Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Arendtsville.
