Louise M. Myers

Louise “Weezie” or “Mammy” M. Myers, age 81, of Shippensburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2024 surrounded by her family at her home in Shippensburg. She was born on March 24, 1943 in Michigan City, Indiana, as the daughter of the late Raymond and Rose Marie (Guehn) McPherson.


Louise graduated from high school in Indiana. She worked previously as a seamstress and enjoyed sewing. She retired from Wal-Mart after working as a cashier for 15 years. She was a member of Shippensburg Church of the Nazarene, Durff-Kuhn VFW Post 6168 in Shippensburg and the Shippensburg Moose Lodge #2500. In her spare time, Louise enjoyed reading and coloring on her tablet. Her family remembers her being sharp as a tack and enjoying crossword’s, and table games such as; Scrabble, Uno, and Rummy.


Louise is survived by her three daughters, Connie Taylor and her husband, Chris of Shippensburg, Cathy S. Keck and her husband, Joel of Shippensburg, and Carie L. Derick and her husband, Tom of Newburg; five grandchildren, Anna Shoff, Tyler Sherman, Shontay Sanders, Breanne Keck and Kenny Hill; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Judy Buczkowski of Indiana; one brother, Ronnie and his wife, Connie Chasteen of Michigan City, Indiana and one niece, Mary and her husband, John Haney of Arizona. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband who passed on November 10, 2002, Robert Myers; sister, Rose Price; niece, Chrissy Russell and brother-in-law, Richard Buczkowski.


Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. A Visitation will be held from 6-7:00 PM on Friday, September 13, 2024 at the First Assembly of God, 420 Baltimore Rd., Shippensburg PA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow from 7-8:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Dale Detweiler. There will be light refreshments following the service at the church.
