Lowell A. Baker, age 67 of Shippensburg, died Monday, August 20, 2012 at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born Saturday, December 30, 1944 in Littlestown, the son of the late Jmes A. and Helen M. (Rexroth) Baker. Lowell co-owned and co-operated Baker Brothers Excavating in Gettysburg for many years. He had been previously employed by the Adams County Prison as a corrections officer. He was currently employed as a custodian by Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg. He served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Hope L. (Shull) Baker. He is also survived by: a step-daughter Manda R. Eger of Carlisle, a step-grandson, Hollis Eger; one sister, Sinda Gross of Sacramneto, CA and a niece, Bonnie Beck. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Baker and one half-sister, Burdell Hull. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 23, at Dugan Funeral Home, with Reverend James R. Speelman officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Arendtsville. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 AM until time of services.
