Lucille M. Reed

Lucille M. Reed, age 86 of Land O Lakes, FL, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 at her daughter's home. She was born Tuesday, November 8, 1927 in Gettysburg, the daughter of the late Ira G. and Ruth (Hagey) Fair. Lucille was formerly employed at the Fayetteville Library as a librarian for many years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a dedicated supporter of her children in sports and a vocal advocate of fair play. After retirement, she lived with her daughter, which gave her the opportunity to travel and see much of the country. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Waybright Black, Jr. who passed in 1961 and her second husband, Richard Reed who died in 1986. She is survived by two daughters, Janice Harris of Land O Lakes, Faye A. Balzina of Harrisburg; six sons, Donald W. Black of Myrtle Beach, SC, Robert A. Black of Tampa, FL, Steven I. Black of Gettysburg, Douglas E. Black of Chambersburg, Jeffrey L. Black of Las Vegas, Gregory L. Black of Olympia, WA; three sisters, Nadine Gorman of Harrisburg, Patricia Weikert of Gettysburg, Nancy Shank of Everett; three brothers, James Fair of Harrisburg, Carroll Fair of Fairfield, David Fair of Waynesboro; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, David Black; three brothers, Dale G., Fred R., Robert L. and a sister, Margaret A. Arnsberger. Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 13 at Wenksville United Methodist Church, 2080 Wenksville Road, Biglerville with Reverend Rick Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Wenksville Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 12 at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
