Lucy Ann Vazquez, age 47 of Aspers, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at York Hospital. She was born Friday, August 20, 1971 in Camden, NJ, the daughter of Santos M. and Luz C. (Nieves) Vazquez of Gardners. Lucy graduated from Biglerville High School in 1991. She was formerly employed by the WIC Center in Gettysburg and Chambersburg. She was also a former York County Sheriff’s Deputy. She had a degree in cosmetology and worked with her mother in Bendersville and Biglerville. She was very creative and used her painting talents to memorialize loved ones who have passed. She enjoyed shooting her guns, playing soccer and eating Chinese food. She and her husband enjoyed attending Mexican Music concerts and dancing. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Facundo Garcia-Almanza. She is also survived by her daughter, Danielle N. Cheek of Fairfield, sons, Heladio Z. Garcia Vazquez and Aidyn Garcia Vazquez, both of Aspers, a grandson Axel Mays, three sisters, Santa I. Monteleone of Fairfield, Rosa E. Krouse of New Windsor, MD, Marisel Vazquez of Gardners, and two brothers, Santos M. Vazquez, Jr. of Shippensburg, and Samuel Vazquez of Greencastle. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg with Reverend Father Ignacio Palomino officiating. Interment will be in Biglerville Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
